Charlotte Holton chose to become a Gyrotonic and Pilates instructor after years of practicing Pilates and yoga as a natural compliment to her work as a modern dancer. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Charlotte lived in New York and Chicago before returning to North Carolina. In both cities, she enjoyed working and studying with a wide range of teachers and exploring different movement opportunities. Charlotte has completed her training through the Pilates Certification Center (2005), as well as completing a full spectrum of Gyrotonic courses: GYROKINESIS® courses(2009), Gyrotonic Jumping Stretching Board(2009), Gyrotonic GYROTONER®(2009), Gyrotonic: Therapeutic Applications for the Shoulder Girdle(2009). She holds certificates in Gyrotonic Certificates for Level 1: GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, the Gyrokinesis method, Jumping-Stretching Board and Gyrotoner. Charlotte holds the belief that mindful movement is fundamental to living happily in our own bodies. Each client has a unique movement history and reason for pursuing movement training, and I enjoy working to find the best way to connect with each individual.
Spending time outside with her family, dancing at Arts Together, and serving on the boards of several local non-profits.
The wide range of people that she has the opportunity to work with.
“The dancer (mover) is fortunate indeed, for he has for his instrument the most eloquent and miraculous of all instruments, the human body.” -José Limón
