Rae Mathews

I've worked my way through the Pilates apparatus teacher training here at Evolve, and specialize in pilates for dancers. After dancing for 9 years myself, I can relate to the pains that both current and ex dancers suffer from and have loved using pilates to rehabilitate myself and others. I believe in encouraging and teaching full body awareness with hopes of enabling clients to understand the imbalances and physical weaknesses in their bodies and then pursue a more holistic road to health.

Techniques I teach/provide:

I've been at Evolve since:

When I'm not teaching at Evolve, you can find me:

Looking after an adorable little three year old (nanny), walking the Raleigh Greenway with my precious pup, checking out all the local love happening in Raleigh with my wonderful husband, Isaac.

My favorite thing about teaching at Evolve is:

The encouraging community. The other instructors support and inspire me in both my personal practice/health and in my own teaching.

My morning routine is:

COFFEE First, ALWAYS. Then I wake up slow with some light reading, prayer, and meditation, followed by a ten minute stretching session, and off to work I go.

I'm inspired by:

My husband, local church community, and of course the Evolve community.

Best advice I've received:

Don't let the fear of failing keep you from taking risks and chances in life.

My favorite quote:

"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends."
